Shevtsova G. Genesis of Ukrainian wooden church (sources, principles of architectural formation, worldwide contest).

The aim of the study is to determine the genesis of Ukrainian wooden church: the sources and the principles of its architecture shape-formation as an original phenomena in the world sacral architecture development contest. The object of the study is Ukrainian wooden church. The subject of the study is the genesis of Ukrainian wooden church: the sources and the architectural shape-formation principles. The methods of the study are: systematization of archeological information for about the early stages of wooden construction development; retrospective reconstruction of wooden buildings’ shape according to the archeological rests; architectural-genetic analysis of Ukrainian archaic rural buildings; extrapolation of wooden buildings sacralization logic to the Ukrainian terrains; architectural-genetic analysis of basic Ukrainian wooden church space-shape and space-constructive characteristics and their comparative analysis with the neighbor countries wooden churches; hypothetic reconstruction of Ukrainian wooden church space-constructions; comparative analysis of the common regularities of space-composition and sensual shape-formation of worldwide temples, general data’s’ synthesis. The scientific novelty of the thesis lies in the following: there was for the first time formulated the theory of Ukrainian wooden church genesis that include the determining of Ukrainian wooden church architectural prototypes and the formulation of five principles of its architecture shape-formation: the principle of its genesis independence and syncretism; the principle of its basic shapes conservatism; the principle of its structure tectonic and centric character; the principle of its shape and shape-formation way combinatory; the principle of its development revolution character. There were determined the extreme world significance, unique traces and the factors caused the originality of Ukrainian wooden church. Also there were scientifically argued its architectural originality and national identity.
