Object of study – is the reinsurance market as an important segment of the national economy insurance sector. Purpose of the research – is to substantiate the theoretical and methodological dominants of the reinsurance market investigation, to identify and analyze the main tendencies of its functioning in modern realia and describe the prospects of the reinsurance market development in the context of construction of modern paradigm of its formation. Methods – scientific abstraction and generalization, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, observation and comparison, empirical description, economic and statistical methods, methods of data collection and processing, structure and correlation-regression analysis, formalization and economic modeling, dialects, institutional and evolutionary theories are used. Results – theoretical and conceptual, scientific and pragmatic principles of modern paradigm of the reinsurance market formation in Ukraine are worked out. Novelty – the methodological dominants of some phenomena and processes investigation in the reinsurance area, complex theoretical and methodological approach to the disclosure of the reinsurance market essence; the definition of the reinsurance essence, scientific and methodological approaches to identify reinsurance market structure, the theoretical and methodological basis of evaluation of the reinsurance market competitive environment are improved; the institutional principles of the reinsurance market formation, directions for improvement the reinsurance market information support, the integration priorities of the national reinsurance market to the global insurance space are further developed. It is implemented into the activities of the Committee on Finance, Banking, Tax and Customs Policy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the National Commission for the State Regulation of Financial Services Markets, the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine, Association of insurance business.
