Object - theoretical and methodological foundations for physical rehabilitation of persons with disorders of the musculoskeletal system; purpose - theoretical and methodological argumentation of development of the concept and the optimal use of the program of physical rehabilitation of patients with knee joint arthrosis 0-ІІІ-X-ray stage; methods: analysis, generalization and systematization of data of scientific, methodical and professional literature, pedagogical, sociological methods, instrumental, functional methods, methods of mathematical statistics; novelty: first developed, scientifically substantiated and approbated of the entire concept of physical rehabilitation of patients with knee joint arthrosis, explained the basic principles of the complex use of the developed program of physical rehabilitation in treatment of patients with knee joint arthrosis; demonstrated the possibility to improve the efficiency of treatment and rehabilitation programs of knee joint arthrosis, developed and proved the algorithm of the realization of the program of physical rehabilitation of patients with knee joint arthrosis, demonstrated prolonged impact of the developed physical rehabilitation program on the treatment of physical activity of patients with knee joint arthrosis. Improved information database on the etiologic and pathogenetic mechanisms of the disease, subjective and objective characteristics of patients with knee joint arthrosis, the functional state of the musculoskeletal system, physical activity, quality of life, depending on the stage of the disease; the purpose and nature of the physical rehabilitation of patients with knee joint arthrosis, the relationship between indicators of the functioning of the musculoskeletal system, health, quality of life and degenerative- dystrophic changes on radiographs of the knee joints; results: the conditions of implementation of the theoretical and methodological foundations of physical rehabilitation of patients with knee joint arthrosis using the proposed program of physical rehabilitation were defined, summarized current views on the impact of etiologic factors on the development and progress of gonarthrosis, clinical manifestations, basic methods of objectification of treatment and physical rehabilitation, analyzed and generalized international practice and recommendations for management of patients and conducting physical rehabilitation; sphere - physical education and sport.
