Popyk V. Resources of biographical and biobibliographical information in a system of national heritage: history, methodology, development

The thesis deals with the place and importance of biographical information as a part of the national heritage in the system of social communications. Genesis, historical transformation, contemporary issues, challenges and perspectives for the formation of resources of biographical and biobibliographical information are considered. It was analyzed the international and domestic theoretical, scientific, methodological and organizational experience in the matter of the resources collecting, organizing, processing and distribution. The gained experience is of actual value for a further development of historical and biographic-informational practice in Ukraine. Conceptual problems for formation of printed and electronic resources of biographical and biobibliographic information in Ukraine were investigated. It was proposed theoretical, methodical and organizational approaches for deploying of integrated, thematic and regional resources, for intensifying the place and role of libraries in accumulation, systematization, processing and dissemination of biographical information.
