The dissertation focuses on the comprehensive analysis of the Ukrainian Western Diaspora's music culture as a sociocultural phenomenon of the 20th c. It has been proved that the Ukrainian Diaspora's music culture as a complex many-sided formation is a constituent part of the Ukrainian art and its subsystem - music culture. It manifested itself in music performances, education, musicology and composing. The structural model of the Western Diaspora's music culture as a complex integral self-organized open system consists of music values or artifacts, all kinds of cultural and music activity and its figures, establishments and social institutions, cultural and music environment. The dissertation presents the original historical and cultural periodization of the Ukrainian Diaspora's musical art in the context of emigration waves. The periodization covers the following periods: stabilization and adaptation, amateurism; organization and consolidation with some professional features; dynamic structuredness, professionalism; integration and transformation. The organization, content, and activity of the Ukrainian institutions have been elucidated; the centers of the Diaspora's cultural and music activity as well as its specific character have been determined; the composing art and contribution of the Diaspora's music professionals to the Ukrainian music culture have been described.
