Essay

The research elaborates the scientific principles of hygienic diagnosis and prognostic assessment of patterns of processes of mental and psychophysiological adaptation of schoolchildren of 14-17 years old. These scientific principles require the following procedures: to determine hygienic, medical, social, psychological and educational grounds of psychophysiological and mental adaptation; to assess the age and gender peculiarities of formation of psychophysiological correlates of psychophysiological adaptation and personality correlates of mental adaptation of schoolchildren; to take into account the peculiarities of formation of psychophysiological and personality correlates of psychophysiological and mental adaptation in girls and boys depending on the state of health; to take into account the prognostic criteria for evaluation of successful psychophysiological (psycho-physiological adaptive cluster) and mental (anxiety-neurotic, neuro-psychical and character-motivational adaptive clusters) adaptation; to make a prognostic evaluation of the peculiarities of adaptive changes; to implement diagnostic, corrective and fostering approaches to improve the adaptive processes, etc. Scientific grounds are provided for the method of complex scoring of the peculiarities of mental and psychophysiological adaptation of high school pupils to the conditions of intense daily activities in modern secondary school and diagnostic and preventive program aimed at psychohygienic correction of inadequate psychophysiological and mental adaptation and negative changes in the health status of schoolchildren of 14-17 years old.
