The dissertation is devoted to the development of scientific bases of research of psychological determinants of formation of the personality of a policeman. The aim of the study is a comprehensive study of the personality of the employee of the internal Affairs on the basis of psychological analysis of the factors of its adaptation to professional activities. Developed scientifically grounded proposals for psychological diagnostics of professionally significant qualities in the process of professional selection and maintenance service. In the dissertation were identified and justified conceptual and methodological foundations of the study of the personality of a policeman, lit the essence of professional adaptation as an integrative structural component of his personality and installed individually-psychological, socio-psychological and vocational-psychological patterns of adaptability of the policeman. On the basis of research is characterized by cognitive, communicative, organizational and constructive activities as determinants of formation of the personality of a policeman. Clarified psychological characteristics biopsych components, mental processes, professional experience and professional orientation in the structure of the personality of the employee of the internal Affairs. On the basis of the generalized analysis of the characteristic of the psychological determinants of the constructive and destructive dynamics of personality of a policeman in the process of professional activity. This gave the opportunity to offer psychological tools of diagnostics of professionally significant qualities of the personality structure of the employee of the internal Affairs and to identify ways to optimize their professional and psychological training. Author questionnaire "Diagnostics of professionally significant qualities of the employee of the internal Affairs ", which allows leading indicators of the professional adaptation of personality. This technique is oriented to quickly identify the presence or absence of psychological adaptation to the conditions of performance and enables to predict the dynamics of formation of the personality of a policeman in professional activity.
