Essay

Theoretical and methodological background is elaborated, to identify systemic determinants and dominants of economic neodependency as an objective reality of the global economy at the contemporary phase of economic globalization, which is the imperative for newly emerging profiles of dependency, resulting from transformations in the forms of manifestation of international economic relations and specifics of interactions between entities engaged in the international relations. The meaning of dependency theories as the evolutionary basis of the synergetic paradigm of neodependency is explicated. An approach to conceptualization of dialectical nature of economic development as a result of overcoming the dependency-based relations and the reason of their occurrence is proposed. Methodological principles for studies of asymmetrical dependency-based global relations in the context of the extending international division of labor are outlined. The meaning of economic neodependency is interpreted as a form of manifestation of fundamental change in the global dominance. Main theoretical theses of the author's conception of the countries' neodependency as an evolutionary dominant of the global cooperation are formulated. The economic neodependency is distinguished as a new phase in the development of international economic relations. Neodependency is interpreted as the supreme phase of interdependency, which features multi-variation, multi-subordination, complex hierarchical order, de-centralization and multi-level type of links and their effects generated not only by governments but by other entities engaged in international economic relations, which, breaking down the global economy into the national economies, trigger the co-existence of diverse forms of the latter's dependency on the global market, selected countries and spheres of economic relations. The role of the market in transforming the functions of political power offices is investigated, to find potential forms of economic neodependency resulting from the newly-established model for institutionalization of the global economic development. The transformation in economic dependency forms and the occurrence of variations in its configuration is analyzed, to give interpretation to the conception of "economic neodependency", with grouping the actors generating it. The position of governing entities versus governance objects in the global governance in the neodependency context is studied. The evolutionary changes in the nature of economic dependency are identified. It is shown that economic development triggers various forms of dependency, mutual dependency and re-configuration of the poles of global growth. The macroeconomic influences in the South-North dimension are studied. Formation of monetary mechanisms of neodependency in the process of monetary and financial integration is analyzed. Economic tools of neo-protectionism as a preventive measure against the relations of asymmetric dependency are proposed. Global transformations are studied through the prism of multi-polarity as a sign of neodependency. An approach is proposed, based on the anchor criterion, to demonstrate new priorities in cross-country relations. The long-term change in the economic line-up in groups of developed and developing countries is identified. The dependency of Ukraine's trade is analyzed, with outlining the existing challenges to its economic sovereignty.
