The thesis provides theoretical generalization and new resolution of scientific problem which concerns the development of personological methodology of research of the subject of International Public Law. The international legal personality of human being is proved; the peculiarities of the legal personality of sovereign persons are сlarified; the specific features of the legal entities as the subjects of the International Law are ascertained in the thesis. The evolution of the concept of "subject of International Law" is given. The methodological possibilities of personologic approach to the theory of International Law are found out. Process of international legal emancipation and the recognition of an individual as a subject of International Law are presented. The international legal characteristics of the sovereign persons are provided and the problems of recognition, succession and continuity are analyzed. The problems of international legal personality of intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations and sub-national units are researched.
