Cheremukhina O. Medical and social basis for optimized prevention system of diseases of eye and its appendages for the rural residents.

The thesis is devoted to the scientific substantiation and implementation of optimized prevention system for diseases of eye and its appendages for the rural residents in Ukraine. The relevance of the study is due not only to the unique role of the visual analyzer in the perception of the world, but also a high prevalence of eye diseases, lack of attention to prevent such diseases and of organizational structure in ophthalmic service. The thesis solved actual health problem - scientifically justified and proposed an optimized system of preventive ophthalmic service. In the developed system of prevention of diseases of the eye and its appendages used qualitatively new elements: preventive ophthalmology center, which combines all levels of care with the formation of mobile ophthalmic teams, modern training of medical personnel at a qualitatively new scientific and information support providing preventive ophthalmic service; mathematical modeling of the forecast of ophthalmic diseases. The results are applied to the research studies, design and implementation of public health practice for the rural population at the sectoral, regional and local levels and showed medical, social and economic efficiency of the proposed optimized prevention system of diseases of the eye and its appendages.
