Psychological characteristics of the emergency situation affected people were stated, main factors determining the degree of the emergency-related traumatic impacts were specified; major types of emergency responses of various categories of affected people were determined and characterized. It was empirically proved that the work of a psychologist of the SES of Ukraine at the time of emergency distinctly conform with the algorithm of providing the affected people with urgent psychological aid which follows along definite stages.
