Yermilov V. Promotion and implementation of scientific medicine by public health care service in southern Ukraine in the second half of XIX – early XX century.

In the dissertation work as a system of scientific and historical research based on a wide and representative set of sources and modern methodological approaches the results of research promotion and implementation of scientific medicine by public health care service in southern Ukraine in the second half of XIX - early XX century are presented. Public self provincial and municipal authorities, public self-organization of entrepreneurs led to the creation of appropriate types of public systems of health care (provincial, urban and the factory) to predominantly a great number of poor people. Innovative creation of forms, permanent growth and performance of all types of public health care is clearly manifested in southern Ukraine. Doctors of this system provided not only affordable health service, but also organized medical system based on scientific principles. It helped to show convincingly the popularity and closeness of public medicine to the people as a social factor providing vital human needs. A detailed and multifaceted coverage of all kinds of public medicine also showed how the system of medical care was great and complex.
