Essay

Object: an array of archaeological sights and natural sciences data that potentially contain information for reproduction of cultural and historical processes in the Sub-Carpathian region and the Western Podillya of end of the Bronze Age - at the beginning of Early Iron Age. Objective: reconstruction of cultural and historical processes that took place in the later period of the Bronze Age – at the beginning of Early Iron Age in the Sub-Carpathian region and Western Podillya. Methods: historical-comparative, comparative stratigraphic, structural and semantic, map. Results: for the first time made comprehensive analysis of the source material concerning Holihrad culture, offered a clear cultural and taxonomic systematization, highlighted four local-chronological groups of sights, elaborated regional periods of Holihrad culture, conducted the classification of funerary monuments of Vysotska culture, substantiates expediency of selection by A. Terenozhkin in mid-1950 of Mykhalkiv group of pre-Scythian time, traced the genesis of each of the surveyed communities (Holihrad and Vysotska cultures, groups of pre- and Early-Scythian time) on the background of relations with neighboring or more distant communities, considered the problem of cultural and historical attribution of archaeological cultures and groups of Carpathians and Western Podillya in the context of modern understanding of the term "Scythian". Scope: for writing generalizing works on archeology, prehistory of Ukraine and Central-Eastern Europe, tutorials and lectures for secondary schools and universities; construction of museum exhibitions; laying of directories in funds of archeology.
