Essay

Object: Zvenyhorod and Zvenyhorod lands in the context of socio-economic, socio-historical and urbanization development of Zvenyhorod principality as an integral part of the cultural and historical processes in the South-West and Eastern Europe. Objective: generalization of the process of Zvenyhorod formation, the development of its urban structure, social and professional structure, formation of the territory and characteristics of settlement structures of Zvenyhorod lands, meaning the principality in the state building process in the South-West Rus. Methods: analysis and synthesis, statistical, formal and typological, historical, topographical, retrospective simulation, historical and genetic, problem-chronological. Results: for the first time formed empirical knowledge base on the basis of an integrated approach to the study of the sources hull, highlights the historical and political background of the principality and its the capital city Zvenyhorod formation, developed the chronological scale and isolated construction horizons of city functioning, defined principles of Zvenyhorod planning structure and architectural attributes of city government, set periods and social differentiation of cemeteries, brought Zvenyhorod mentioned as one of the largest feudal city and consolidating centers of Galician Rus, reconstructed complete picture of settlement patterns of Zvenyhorod principality as an independent territorial-administrative unit and public-policy formation. Scope: for writing of scientific papers summarizing the evolution of urbanization processes era of feudalism in the history of Ukraine and Galicia-Volyn principality, in preparation of fundamental works on the history of Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
