Farion I. Social Status of the Old Ukrainian (Ruthenian) Language in the 14th-17th centuries.

For the first time in the Ukrainian linguistics it was suggested the diachronic sociolinguistic research. In the centre of multi-spectrum problematics there is an evolution of the Old Ukrainian (Ruthenian) language status within 14th-17th centuries in view of social and political circumstances, religious as well as ideological and philosophical paradigm of time and analysis of the reconstructed language and linguo-ethnical (national) consciousness of governing and noble as well as cleric and educational elite. In the thesis it is excerpted in a consistent manner the history of the first diachronic sociolinguistic researches in the Ukrainian and foreign linguistics, it is defined the methodology of research of the Old Ukrainian (Ruthenian) language social status in diachrony as a trinity of ideas, circumstances and time and it is analysed the processes of phenomenon creation such as the simple language and other linguonomens (language, parlance, speech, dialect, conversation, handwriting) and their ethnical and attributive components as a result of social and political circumstances as well as ideological and philosophical time measurement. In the thesis for the first time it is analysed legal documents in the social and linguistic context and it is specified the main tendencies of the Old Ukrainian (Ruthenian) language reception in the midst of governing and noble elite with the terms introduction such as linguolegal and lenguotheoretical linguosocium in order to examine the language picture of hetman's chancelleries. The changeless idea of the entire work is the reconstruction and analysis of linguistic and lingo-ethnical (national) consciousness of the leading cleric and educational surroundings and certain linguistic personalities in the context of new Ukrainian language and ethnical unity formation in addition it is defined the main tendencies of the Ukrainian language dimension in the educational discourse.
