Essay

The main problem, which is reflected in the research, is how the philosophical ideas of T. Shevchenko correlate with the Byzantine artistic imitation / dialogue of the cultural experience laid by the Byzantine spiritual tradition. On the one hand, the sources of the creative components by T. Shevchenko (iconic paradigm of the symbol, Christian ethics and aesthetics, the concept of "holiness", "catholicity", images of the book, church, concept of "knowledge", Church Slavonic language, myth of the "word", etc.) are related not only with the spiritual tradition, but also with wide cultural and historical layers of the Old Ukrainian era, formed under the influence of Byzantism. On the other hand - the conscious use of the concept "Byzantism" by T. Shevchenko has the elements of social and cultural representation and acts as a rule, in the status of the "alien'Vhostile. Thus, the specifics of Byzantism in Shevchenko's works is his ambivalence, that shows on the implicit level affinity with the Byzantine spiritual and artistic tradition, and on the other level - has the features of the historical and political attribution and corresponds to the problematic field of the socio-political thought of those days.
