Essay

Object: Ukrainian population of Bukovyna. Objective: detection of sources, distinctive features and investigation of the change process calendar ritualism of the Ukrainians of Bukovyna, research of semantics and symbolism of the Ukrainians ritual calendar, scientifically substantiated historical and ethnographic description of calendar holidays. Methods: analysis, synthesis, narrative, abstraction, surveys, empirical observation, questioning. Results: for the first time introduced into scientific circulation new factual material that obtained in archives, museums, in the field ethnographic studies, the origins of calendar holidays and ceremonies of the Ukrainians of Bukovyna, which have their own millennial history is showed, the symbolism of winter, spring, summer and autumn calendar holidays of the Ukrainians of Bukovyna is researched, the basic elements of winter, spring, summer, autumn rites are described, semantics and symbolization of calendar events are improved, specific elements of the calendar ritualism of the Ukrainians in land based on Bukovynian ethnological material are highlighted, the modern state of celebration of calendar holidays is analyzed. Scope of application: for use by ethnographic and local history museums in the formation of thematic expositions and funds, for organizing of museum exhibitions, etc., in preparation of lectures courses and workshops at universities, for creating of manuals.
