Ukrainian post-colonial studies have a lack of theoretical generalization of the matrix whereas various definitions of the concepts of "post-colonialism", "postcolonial criticism", "postcolonial theory", original model interpretation of the phenomena of colonialism, anticolonialism, post-colonialism. Widely in their methodology and tools are post-structuralism, deconstructions, psychoanalysis, feminist criticism. Application of post-colonial practice analyzing phenomena of Ukrainian literature was prompted on the understanding that the situation in the Ukrainian understanding of colonial, anti-colonial experiences requires a proper Ukrainian version of postcolonial theory. Considering it have been created several assumptions that formed the basis of the author's interpretative models, namely awareness Ukrainian colonial status in the past; analysis of colonial, anti-colonial and postcolonial discourses as those that interact and are an essential part of national identity; singling out the importance of the past colonized Ukrainian people; overcome meaningless signs of change in post-colonial space; understanding of the colonization process, not just as a result of aggressor imperial actions, but depth study of colonial and imperial texts from the standpoint of the author's presence in these subjectivity.
