Essay

The object of the research is Lev Venhlinskii's poetry written in Polish and Ukrainian languages and its Ukrainian translation. The aim of the research is to carry out a comprehensive analysis of Lev Venhlinskii's bilingual literary works in the view of Ukrainian-Polish bilingual traditions of the second half of the 19th century; to trace historical speech peculiarities in Lev Venhlinskii's artistic images in order to prove their influence on the interaction of Ukrainian and Polish pictures of the world. The research methods are as follows: descriptive, comparative, contrastive, hermeneutic and the method of conceptual analysis. The scientific novelty of the research: the poetic legacy of the writer was chosen to be the object of the research for the reason that it hasn't been studied before in both Ukrainian and Polish linguistics. In viewing the latest achievements in linguistic-cultural studies the concept and interpretation of the phonetic, orthographic, lexical and grammatical linguistic phenomena symmetry of the Ukrainian and Polish elements have been proposed. The practical significance of the research: collected and analyzed data can be used while preparing university courses and courses on the history of Ukrainian and Polish literary languages, dialects, lexicology as well as while compiling textbooks on bilingualism in literary works.
