The thesis provides the results of special epidemiological and behavioral research among migrant workers and their environment. The intersectoral system of countermeasure for HIV infection epidemic progression among labour migrants has been developed and justified. The system's components are: the methods for determination of the estimated number of HIV infection increased risk groups; the system of epidemiological inspection of the HIV infection epidemic progression among labour migrants and their environment on the regional level; the system of event coordination and communication among the members of the countermeasure system for HIV infection epidemic progression among the target group representatives on the basis of the intersectoral approach; medical and non-medical components of influence on the target group representatives and the M&E system. The intersectoral system provides integrated preventive help on all stages of labour migration at the primary place of residence of migrant workers and their environment, contributing to the reduction of HIV infection level, to the identification of a positive HIV status on early stages and improvement of HIV/AIDS epidemic situation among the population in the region in general. Implementation of certain elements of the suggested intersectoral system in Transcarpathian region, which corresponds to international approaches as positively evaluated by experts (95.0%±3.4%), proved its medical and social effectiveness, allowing to recommend it for the implementation in the healthcare system of Ukraine.
