Essay

Object: the phenomenon of cultural memory and written culture in the context of global and Eastern European history in a complex with beliefs and stereotypes that operating in the public consciousness in Eastern Europe, Ukraine, and in particular Galicia in XIX and XX centuries. Objectives: analysis of the system of social images, notions, stereotypes that operating in a culture of Galicia, with synchronous and historical-diachronic perspective. Methods: structural and systemic, comparative and historical, problem-chronological, synchronous, historical-diachronic. Results: for the first time comprehensively analyzed public image / myth of Galicia of modern period against the background of its genetic origins, cultural memory and written culture of the region, systematically analyzed the mutual relationships between the formation of the written systems, evolution of literary traditions and emergence of civilization paradigms, investigated genesis and evolution of writing culture in Galicia in XIX-XX centuries and the role of social notions in its context; traced the paths of their evolution, improved theoretical and methodological concepts for sign structure of written culture and cultural memory. Scope of application: for writing a synthetic scientific and popular works on the history of Ukraine and world history, particularly the history of writing and mentality, as well as training courses on these subjects.
