Essay

This thesis is a complex research devoted to the scientific problem of future language and literature teachers’ literary competence development in the process of their training in higher educational institutions in the context of modern educational paradigms. The dissertation proves that literary competence of the future Ukrainian language and literature teacher is a personal and professional phenomenon that integrates individual and personal and professional qualities, which ensure readiness to perform literary activities as a basis of professional activity, self-realization and self-improvement. The author justifies the development of literary competence as a specially organized process, that through interaction of a recipient and literary works on the intellectual-content, emotionally expressive, artistic and creative levels promotes student formation as a creative professional with an individual style of professional activities. She defines criteria (motivational orientation, information and cognitive, praxeological, affective and regulatory), indicators and levels (indifferently-imitative, reproductive, constructive, adaptive-professional, creative) of future the Ukrainian language and literature teachers literary competence development and finds out historical and cultural, social, psychological, organizational and pedagogical factors of literary competence of future professionals in the process of their training. The thesis presents the system of forming and developing literary competence in the higher pedagogical institutions based on axiological, existential, systemic, synergistic, competence, activity, person-centered, integrative, hermeneutic, creative approaches, and holds perspective target-oriented, conceptual-theoretical, methodic-technological, evaluative-efficient units.
