Essay

IIn the thesis research we consider the scientific problem of the development of artistic and stylistic patterns of the Ukrainian fine arts of the period from 1940s till 1960s. Particular aspects of the study are paintings, graphic art, sculpture, ceramics, forging, jewelry, weaving, as well as stage design. Thesis analyses the many-sided activities of the native artists of the period, taking into consideration sociocultural and political aspects that had influenced them. The research gives much attention to the sources that had never been taken into account while analyzing the cultural processes in the country. We analyze historical events, taking into account all the aspects that had influenced them. By this we mean the political aspect, that is that the Soviet totalitarian system had wiped out all artistic groups and societies and created the one-and-only artistic union of the Ukrainian and Soviet artists, thus almost completely encroaching the control under the artists, who found themselves in the unwanted social environment.
