The dissertation is dedicated to the development and justification of the theoretical foundations of fleet operation management in the TTS to increase the efficiency of their operation. The dissertation presents the theory and practice of the TTS function, concretized the concept of "TTS", systematized the chronology of their appearance and development, refined substantive aspects of periodization obtained. A comparative analysis of the historical aspects of the formation of the theory and practice of TTS and LS. The content of the concepts of "TTS" and "LS", summarized their basic properties, refined objects of management in TTS and LS. The analysis of known classifications of TTS, determined their ambiguity and inconsistency, revealed violations of the rules of division of concepts while its formed; the multi-criteria classification of TTS is developed. Demarcation of the concepts "multimodal", "intermodal", "combined" transportation and logistic relationship between them. The relationship between intermodal transportation and TTS. The system of indicators of commercially viable operation of the cargo vessel (fleet), positions on the justification of critical and optimal values of vessel (fleet) performance are developed, established the stability ranges of commercially viable, unprofitably-acceptable and critical operation of vessel (fleet) based on terms of its load, income and expenses. The theoretical and methodical positions on a substantiation commercially reasonable value of various cargoes in the composite loading of the cargo ship. Systematized dynamic performance indicators for commercially viable operation of the ferry. The theoretical and methodical positions on a substantiation of the vessel operational route while creating the shipping line (SL); appropriateness of the vessel call to the optional ports of SL; optimal distribution of container flows between ocean and feeder lines.
