Essay

The thesis presents a theoretical synthesis and proposes solving actual scientific problem of formation of information competence of translators for the agricultural sector. Theoretical and methodological foundations of formation of information competence of translators for the agricultural sector are substantiated and the concept of this process is designed. The main regulations of national and international standards for training translators, standards of their professional activities and normative documents about content of information competence of translators are summarized. A model of formation of information competence of translators for the agricultural sector is elaborated, theoretically grounded and experimentally tested. It includes the following units: target unit; theoretical and methodological foundations; strategic and normative principles; organization and contents; diagnostic; outcomes. Organizational and pedagogical conditions of formation of information competence of translators for the agricultural sector in higher educational institutions are defined. The definition of «information competence of translator» is formulated. The criteria of forming components of information competence of translators (motivational, cognitive, activity, personal) with levels (low (reproductive), average (technologized), sufficient (constructive), high (productive) are specified. A special course «Information technologies in translation projects» is developed and implemented.
