Essay

The dissertation presents a generalization of the problem of psychology of eating behavior and a new solution to the problem investigated from the position of psychosomatic unity has been proposed. The essence, specifics and psychological patterns of eating behavior in the continuum "norm - pathology" have been revealed. It was shown that eating behavior as phenomenon of corporality is meta-syndromic system-procedural form of meta causal nature, capable of self-organization of nonlinear feedbacks and self-development in terms of chaotic spontaneous structuring. The bio-psycho-social-spiritual model of the development of eating behavior in the continuum "norm - pathology", which is positioned by multi-vector ontogenetic development and fractals dimensions which define diversity of nonlinear dynamic development has been proposed. The model includes four vectors of ontogenetic development (somato-, psycho-, socio-, existential-genesis) and four fractals that represent certain successive phases of the formation of problematic eating behavior strategies in the range of "overeating - food restrictions" from the fractal of predispositions (creation of favorable conditions for appearance of systematically eccentric deviations) to the fractal of large-scale clinical picture of certain nosologic forms (obesity, psychogenic overeating, anorexia, bulimia), reflecting the transition to the chaos disease attractor through cascade of numerous bifurcations in the system of corporality. Psychological conditions and consequences of bad eating behavior have been identified. Theoretical foundations of the formation of health saving competence on eating behavior has been grounded. The program of eating behavior normalization has been developed and its approbation has been made.
