Essay

The dissertation is devoted to problem of reducing power losses in DC traction power supply systems and reducing the effects of transit power flows and reactive power in the interaction of traction and external power supply systems. The paper analyzes the state of the problem of energy-efficient electricity supply of the railway transport. The modern mechanisms of efficient use of electricity are also studied. Methods for calculating traction power supply systems with allowance for intellectually controllable elements in direct current electric traction systems are developed. The modes of electricity consumption in DC and AC power supply systems were analyzed. The scientific basis for determining the control sequence of impacts on devices for reinforcement of DC traction networks has been developed and methods for coordinated interaction of traction and external power supply systems have been improved.
