Essay

The thesis is devoted to studying the features of character of modern youth and studying the psychological laws of character harmonization in the youth age. The author analyses a spiritual, philosophical and scientific psychological traditions, which concern the "character of the personality" concept. The model of the structure, and the contents of character of the personality where developed. The criteria of character harmony and types of character disharmonies have been allocated by the author. There where proved spiritual and moral principles of harmonization of character development. The methodological approach to character harmonization was described; main directions of spiritual and moral self-actualization of the personality in the youth age were allocated. There where investigated features and a level of character harmony of modern senior pupils and students. It was established, that spiritual and moral development of the person determines a character harmony. On the basis of an experimental research of spiritual potential and a degree of a harmony of character of modern young people, the author allocates the psychological laws of influence of spiritual potential on the process of characterological development in the youth age. The author's special course of character harmonization in the youth age by the method of spiritual and moral self-actualization of the personality has been developed and experimentally confirmed. There where proved methodical recommendations for practical psychologists concerning methods of character harmonization of modern senior pupils and students. The basic directions of optimization of education system are creation of psychological conditions of spiritual and moral improvement and saturation of teaching and educational programs by the spiritual and creative actions.
