Object - the process of elementary school teachers training in the system of continuous pedagogical education; the aim - to theoretically substantiate and experimentally verify the scientific and methodological system of the formation of elementary school teachers' readiness to the work with talented pupils in the system of continuous pedagogical education; methods - analysis, comparison, generalization, synthesis, general scientific, pedagogical experiment; novelty - first, the scientific and methodological system of the formation of elementary school teachers' readiness to the work with talented pupils in the system of continuous pedagogical education has been theoretically substantiated and experimentally verified; the system includes the target (a hierarchical system of strategic, tactical and operational goals), conceptual (a set of methodological approaches, regularities, principles), content and procedural (the stage process of the readiness formation for the work with talented pupils should be oriented on the development of teachers' motivational, cognitive, pragmatist, reflective and personal readiness components which acquires appropriate concretization in the content, methods, forms, means of achieving tactical and operational goals in each link of continuous pedagogical education), control and corrective (a set of monitoring procedures aimed at tracking the dynamics of the level of teachers' readiness components formation and the process operational improvement), evaluative-productive (a set of diagnostic measures in order to determine the degree of achieving the strategic goal - teachers' readiness formation to the diagnostics and education of talented pupils) components. The study main results and conclusions were used in the process of development of a comprehensive program for monitoring the condition of the readiness formation. The study materials can be used in the system of continuous pedagogical education for the developing of special courses, distance courses, the courses for improving the qualification of teachers, in the work of teachers methodological associations, in teaching disciplines of the psychological and pedagogical cycle; field - pedagogy.
