Essay

The research is devoted to the actual problem of forming a system of knowledge of senior pupils in the process of biology teaching. The essence of the concept, theoretical and methodical principles and the methodology of formation of the knowledge system of senior pupils from biology is substantiated. The analysis of philosophical, psychological and pedagogical and scientific-methodical literature is carried out in order to determine the existing approaches to the understanding of the categorical apparatus of the study. In the comparative aspect of the program and active textbooks on the biology of grades 10–11 in the context of the problem studied, the analysis of the state of the problem in the practice of the work of the modern Ukrainian school was analyzed. The methodology of formation of the system of knowledge of senior pupils in the process of teaching biology in 10–11 grades was developed and substantiated, and the conditions of its practical realization were determined. The criteria and levels for assessing the formation of a knowledge system of senior pupils in biology have been developed. A set of organizational and methodological conditions is defined and on the basis of the developed methodological recommendations can be used in the process of teaching biology at school.
