In the course of the scientific work, theoretical and methodological foundations of hygienic diagnostics and prognostic assessment of professional suitability of students of medical educational institutions (on the example of dental specialties), hygienic estimation of special features of organization of the working process and dentists' working conditions while using novel techniques for diagnostics, treatment and prevention were scientifically substantiated, hygienic foundations for job-specific professional evaluation of professionally significant psychophysiological functions and personality traits were determined, and psychophysiographs and psychograms of occupational activities for the main dental specialties (therapeutic dentistry, dental surgery, prosthetic dentistry, orthodontics, pediatric therapeutic dentistry and dental surgery), which determine the high level of professional suitability of specialists were scientifically grounded, hygienic assessment of occupational conditions and organization of daily activities, the level of professionally-significant student adaptation and health status of stomatological students was conducted, special aspects of the processes of development of leading professionally-significant psychophysiological functions of the organism and formation of special personality traits in dental students at different stages of higher education course were established, the methods of integrated assessment of special elements in the course of professional adaptation and formation of high professional suitability of students who acquire a dental profession at medical education institutions were developed and scientifically substantiated, which allow us to calculate the indicators of psychophysiological and personalized professionally-significant determinants in the professional suitability of students, as well as to develop a complex of measures for optimization of professional training, psychohygienic correction of the course of professional adaptation and prevention of unfavorable changes in the psychophysiological state of organism of future dentists, using which provides statistically significant improvement on the part of such indicators of the functional state of higher nervous activity as the speed of simple (p(t)<0,05-0,01) and differentiated (p(t)<0,001) visual-motor response and the balance of nerve processes (p(t)<0,01-0,001), the characteristics of attention stability and mental capacity (p(t)<0,01-0,001), coordination capability (p(t)<0,05-0,001), such personality features as state anxiety (p(t)<0,05), level of expression of asthenic (p(t)<0,05-0,01) and depressive (p(t)<0,05) states, and a number of other personality traits, including characteristics of subjective control and aggressive manifestations in the personality of students.
