Solomchak D. Medical and social substantiation of the advanced system of prevention and medical care for patients with urolithiasis

Comprehensive medical and social research revealed the significance of social and economic burden of urolithiasis, and displayed irrational use of resources and urological services organization. The advanced system of prevention and medical care for patients with urolithiasis was scientifically substantiated and developed. The core innovations of this system were: medical and organizational technologies forming pathways and integrative model of health care for kidney stones at regional level. The main elements of the latter model were: the concentration of modern surgical urological care in some high-tech medical facilities, regardless of their form of ownership; the involvement of primary care physicians in prevention, early detection of pathology and promoting the implementation of individual metaphylaxis programs. The results of the peer review, the experience of the organizational experiment on the implementation of the proposed innovations revealed their effectiveness, potential medical, social and economic efficiency.
