This dissertation highlights the results of the comprehensive scientific analysis of the problem of implementation of the competency-based approach in teaching the Chemistry studies to the future pharmaceutists. The scientific paper proves feasibility of methodological and theoretical prerequisites of the implementation of the competency-based approach in teaching the Chemistry studies based on the ideas of its synergy with the systemic, activity-related, personality-oriented, axiological scientific approaches. It theoretically substantiates the principles of the implementation of the competency-based approach in teaching the Chemistry studies to the future pharmaceutists. It specifies the components of the competency-based methodical system. It elaborates on the stages of formation of professional competence (PC). It determines and substantiates the structure of the PC regarded as an indicator of the effectiveness of the implementation of the competency-based approach in teaching Chemistry (motivational and value-based; cognitive; procedural and activity-related; information and communication-aimed; communicative; professionalism-related reflective components). There has been designed and substantiated the model of formation of readiness of teachers and lecturers of medical institutions of higher education. There has been designed and substantiated the structural and functional model of the implementation of the competency-based approach. There have been revealed and substantiated the pedagogical conditions for the formation of the PC. There have been substantiated the criteria, indicators and levels, basic, sufficient accomplished of the formedness of the PC in the future pharmaceutists. There has been advanced the conceptual and categorical research apparatus with regard to the aspects of the author's interpretation.
