Essay

The scientific problem of the presented thesis is a complex art study of cultural codes and the «double coding» in art on the basis of semiotics, structuralism, poststructuralism, psychoanalysis, philosophy of postmodernism and culturological hermeneutics on examples from musical, pictorial, choreographic art in the history of spiritual culture. The cultural code conveys information historically accumulated in the culture in terms of signs and symbols. Fixed in mythology, folklore and religion, the cultural code remains recognizable, despite unusual citations, the identification of transparent allusions or reminiscences, new connotations, contamination and pastiche. Semiotics, the semantic load of meanings and forms of artistic works, results from the use of a cultural code in an artistic text, forming a special process for the invention of its new meanings. The idea of "double coding" in art coincides with the semiotic in the dual interpretation of the cultural code, the decoding of which can be traced from the period of illiteracy to modern Internet resources in the context of culture. "Double coding" in art is the discovery of additional values of the cult-like code through artistic techniques.
