The thesis on the theoretical research of the Family Psychology formation as a field of scientific knowledge in the nineteenth – twentieth centuries. The necessity of historical and psychological reconstruction of the formation process of psychology of the family is argued. The research specificity that involves work with the natural object in its real dynamics in natural and historic environment is defined and establishing process of psychology of the family is reconstructed according to the specificity by comparing two different cultural sections, two semantic and conceptual spaces – past and present. The conceptual model of the formation of the Family Psychology is developed; theoretical and methodological principles of the Family Psychology as a field of scientific knowledge are comprehensively studied and proved. The basic fundamental prerequisites of science formation are singled out and it is determined that the formation of the Family Psychology is connected with formation of its paradigm; arranging of social, informational and communicative, methodological and instrumental, epistemological or empirical and theoretical science subsystem and clear singling out of the study domain. Periodization of formation of Psychology of the Family as a field of scientific knowledge in the nineteenth – twentieth centuries is developed; four stages, namely: the stage of diffuse accumulation of knowledge on family problems (till the middle of the nineteenth century); the stage of systematic accumulation of knowledge within various sciences (from the middle of the nineteenth century); the stage of diffuse accumulation of knowledge within the major psychological schools (from the beginning of the twentieth century); the beginning of scientific design and institutionalization of the Family Psychology (from 50-ies of the twentieth century) are singled out.
