Stepanchuk O. Efficiency improvement methodology of city street network operation

The dissertation is devoted to the complex methodological research and solution of the scientific problem concerning creating and providing necessary conditions for comfortable, stable traffic and optimal density of traffic flows on street network elements of major and largest cities based on principles and methods of management and distribution of traffic flows, which provides an appropriate level of traffic safety and ease. The work is based on theoretical studies allowing solving problems of traffic flows distribution on city street network with minimal time required for moving vehicles on a certain route. The experimental and theoretical studies are used to analyze the regularities of traffic flow and the possibilities of their application on city street networks. The paper considers the modern approaches that improve the vehicle traffic conditions on city street network and refine the traffic flow management mechanisms. These mechanisms are found on the system optimum principle, which consists in the distribution of traffic flows (through the uniform loading of possible traffic routes), taking into account the average value of transport charges for all traffic routs between corresponding city districts.
