Essay

The theoretical and empirical research of emotional intelligence of the personality, it’s genesis and psychological peculiarities of the development in primary school pupils on the basis of the integration of systemic, subject-activity, personally oriented and competent approaches is implemented in the doctoral thesis. It is defined that emotional intelligence is an integral feature of the individual, which reflects the cognitive ability of a person to understand the emotions and manage them through the cognitive processing of emotional information, and provides psychological well-being of the individual and the success of social interaction. Conceptual basis of the development of emotional intelligence in ontogenesis, which allows to form a coherent psychological consideration about the emotional intelligence of the person as the multidimensional, hierarchical structured systemic entity, which appears at the different levels of mental reflection is substantiated on the theoretical and methodological levels. It is elaborated conceptual structural-functional model of the development of emotional intelligence at the primary school age. It is proved that emotional intelligence is grounded on the dynamic unity of affect and intelligence, and is provided by interaction of cognitive, emotional, adaptive and social abilities of the individual, which determines the allocation of the interrelated components in it’s structure: cognitive, emotional, conative and social communicative.
