Kyrylova O. Thanathology (Death Studies) of Decadence in Motion Picture Art

The object of the study is the Decadence Culture and its representations in motion picture Art creating a specific culturological phenomenon of the Film Decadence. The complex multilevel cultural study of the thanathological dimensions of the Film Decadence is carried out in the dissertation. Thanathology of the cinema as a new field of cultural research is first introduced as a discipline with its object (the cinematic death and the modes of the thanathic screen imagery and thanathic structures within the motion picture Art). There is a number of cultural patterns reconstructed: the criteria pattern of the Decadent work of Art, the pattern of the mortal film code, the universal and regional/civilizational patterns of thanathology of the Film Decadence.
