Essay

The scientific problem of the presented dissertation is the complex study of art and culture of Dmytro MykolaiovychMykhaiovych Hnatyuk's creativity phe-nomenon, an outstanding opera singer, stage director, teacher and public figure, which prompts an objective analysis of the historical processes of musical culture in Ukraine in the second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century, and thus, to understand the origins of modern artistic appearance in the national spiri-tual world of modernisation, to reveal the essence of artistic creativity in the con-text of the general humanitarian discourse. In the present times, the greatest need is for the identification of the Ukrainian spiritual heritage, the crystallisation of es-sentially-unique features in its mental basis. Names such as Eugenia Mirosh-nichenko, Anatoliy Solovyanenko, Dmytro Hnatyuk are a breakthrough in the Ukrainian mentality in the sphere of its world art recognition, creating a landmark for national identity. Using the biographical method of research, we study the unique figure - D. M. Gnatyuk in the context of the Ukrainian musical culture development in the second half of the 20th and early 20th centuries, whose creativity has become an integral part of not only domestic but also world operatic art. His individual crea-tive achievements not only entered the golden fund of the national culture, but also allow us to rethink the key aspects of the development of Ukrainian musical and theatrical art. In order to carry out an objective, unbiased study of Dmytro Hnatyuk's volumetric heritage not only as a unique artifact, but also to grasp his numerous connections with the Ukrainian tradition, and with the world tendencies of the musical theater, one should highlight the complex and multifaceted proc-esses of formation and development of this artistic industry in Ukraine as a whole. Such an approach requires the inclusion of a contemporary cultural-artistic thought – the psychological characteristics of the artist in the light of existingpsychological concepts of creativity, as well as the definition of the aesthetic-ideological priori-ties of the outstanding Master as a kind of mechanism for the knowledge of the essence of his personality and originality, to the analytical apparatus of the disser-tation. Dmytro Hnatyuk: opera singer, director-director, teacher gives an opportu-nity to comprehensively cover the creative biography of the artist, comprehen-sively analyse the accumulated experience in the context of his material and spiri-tual heritage.
