The dissertation is focused on the comprehensive study of theoretical and applied issues related to the legal regulation of prejudicial inquiry. The essence, significance and tasks of prejudicial inquiry have been revealed in the thesis; the specifics of pre-trial investigation and peculiarities of legal inquiry as forms of prejudicial inquiry have been considered; the functional orientation of the differentiation of the criminal procedural form during the prejudicial inquiry has been revealed. Scientific views on the essence, meaning and system of general provisions of prejudicial inquiry have been generalized.
