Cherkas N. The Economic Dimension of Global Networking and Competitiveness

The methodological approaches to the studies of economic dimensions of global networking and competitiveness were analyzed and summarized. Economic dimension of global value chains participation was analyzed and the efficiency of internationalization and integration of the subjects of international economic relations into global production networks and value chains by forward and backward participation was evaluated. The dependence of international competitiveness and gross national income on concentration of national companies in global value chains have been studied. A pathway to economic modernization under the conditions of rapid evolvement of global production networks was suggested. The competitive potential of Ukraine and the possibilities of its realization in global value chains was evaluated. The strategic directions of improvement of international competitiveness of Ukrainian economy in the conditions of hyper-globalization were substantiated. Based on the research of interrelationships of exports, imports and GDP, the sequence of policy measures aimed to support technological sophistication of national economy is determined.
