Zbanatska O. Documentary heuristics in the system of social communications: Library Science aspect

Thesis is devoted to a new scientific direction – documentary heuristics as a comprehensive system of knowledge about the theory, history and practical implementation of the document retrieval, its intellectual and technological principles. The object, subject, purpose, tasks, main components of the communication environment of documentary heuristics are defined. The generic classification of documentary heuristics is proposed. The classification has next criterions: the object of document retrieval; institutions, where document retrieval is realized; the branch of knowledge, where document retrieval is realized. Documentary heuristics is an important component of the library's communication environment and is intended to serve as an active scientific mediator in accessing documents. Conceptual foundations and ways of formation and development of documentary heuristics in libraries and other documentary and information institutions, that form the funds, carry out analytical and synthetic processing of documents and serve users, are developed.
