Object - chemical plant protection products as risk factors for the development of thyroid pathology; the aim - hygienic regulation and scientific substantiation of the criteria for hygienic monitoring in the application in agriculture of Ukraine of pesticides that affect the functioning of the thyroid gland, for the prevention of thyroid pathology. Research methods: field and laboratory hygienic experiments, during which organoleptic, sanitary-chemical, sanitary-microbiological, chemical-analytical (high-performance liquid chromatography), physical methods, methods of variation statistics, correlation and regression analysis, methods of empirical and theoretical research of scientific information, namely, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction and systematization, the epidemiological method were used. Results: methods for the integrated assessment of the possible negative impact on the human body when using water and food contaminated with pesticides were developed. Hygienic standards of the studied fungicides, regulations for the safe application of formulations based on them were substantiated. Calculation models for predicting the toxicometry parameters of fungicides and herbicides of various chemical classes were substantiated. The scheme of functioning of the system for monitoring and preventing the negative impact on the health of the population of pesticides - risk factors for the development of thyroid diseases, has been improved. Scoring of the selection criteria for pesticides for their monitoring in the agricultural sector of Ukraine were developed.
