The objective of the study: linguocultural types with social dominance («the official / chynovnyk», «landowner / pomishchyk», «polish landowner / pan», «panych», «pani» (paniia), «panna», «peasant», «worker», «student», «priest», «moskal-soldier») and ethnocultural types («cossack», «liakh / pole», «jew», «gypsy»). The purpose: separation and description of the system of linguocultural types of the XIX century against the background of presenting of stereotypical ideas about the social, cultural, linguistic realities of the time which are characteristic features of Ukrainian fiction discourse. Methods: descriptive method, etymological analysis, component analysis, conceptual analysis, frame analysis method. Scientific novelty: for the first time in Ukrainian linguistics: the original method of analysis of linguocultural types was developed, based on recognition of them as one of the types of concepts; principles of disclosure of linguocultural types of the past are substantiated and principles of diachronic approach to interpretation of linguocultural types are outlined; linguocultural types with social dominance («the official / chynovnyk», «landowner / pomishchyk», «polish landowner / pan», «panych», «pani» (paniia), «panna», «peasant», «worker», «student», «priest», «moskal-soldier») are fully studied; linguocultural types with ethnic dominant («cossack», «liakh / pole», «jew», «gypsy») are studied on the data of 19th century Ukrainian fiction discourse; approaches to synchronic and diachronic description of types have been formed, the specifics of Ukrainian fiction discourse of Ukraine under Russian rulling and under Austrian rulling in the description of types have been identified; the common and distinctive features of conceptualization of types in the consciousness of the culture carriers of Ukraine under Russian rulling and under Austrian rulling are distinguished. Practical importance: the materials of the dissertation can be used in the forming of courses and special courses in linguoculturology, linguoconceptology, discoursology, lexicology. The developed methodology, embodied in the practice of describing Ukrainian linguocultural types, may be of interest to the fields of knowledge about the human-being and society that are related to linguocultural science ‒ psychology, history, literary studies.
