Dundyak I. Ukrainian Church Painting of the second half of the XX - the beginning of the XXI centuries: Features of Functioning, Preservation, Transformation, and Revival.

The dissertation is devoted to the study of peculiarities of the development of Church Painting of Ukraine in the second half of the ХХ and beginning of the XXI centuries in the context of the Transformation, and Revival tendencies and the definition of its place in the national religious art. It is revealed that the analysis of the characteristic features of the modern Ukrainian Church painting is possible only in the comprehensive study of the leading tendencies of the second half of the ХХ which undoubtedly influenced on the development of domestic Church art in general. Adverse socio-political, cultural and artistic conditions of the second half of the XX century affected not only on the genre of church painting, but also on the general course of all artistic processes of the church art of Ukraine. We have analyzed the related phenomena of the religious culture: memorials of domestic religious rituals, subjects with Christian iconography of secular artists ect. for an objective presentation of iconpainting and church polychromy of the second half of the XX century.
