Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the cattle parasitic insects’ expansion in farms of Kyiv and Rivne regions of Ukraine. Particularities of their parasitizing by cattle in stall and grazing seasons and the development and comprehensive testing of insecticidal preparation using in veterinary medicine practice. Based on test results the expansion and seasonal dynamics of Bovicola bovis and the peculiarities of its clinical progression by cattle of different ages as well as localization of biting lice B. bovis and the Muscidae zoophilous flies on the skin of dairy cows and calves were determined. The effect of B. bovis on milk quality and productivity of dairy cows as well as hematological parameters and calves body weight gain were determined. The daily dynamics of the zoophilous flies inroad on dairy cows during summer keeping and in livestock buildings was studied. The species affiliation and domination of zoophilous flies in livestock buildings and pastures has been established. The method of counting the number of blood-sucking two-winged insects on an animal by means of their photofixation and counting on a computer monitor is proposed. The formulation has been developed, the insecticidal products Ektosanтм, Ekosan-plusтм and Ektosan-pudraтм have been thoroughly investigated and introduced for the veterinary market for the cattle protection from parasitic permanent and temporary insects. The medicine Mukho-Morтм with the evident attractant effect has been created for usage against zoophilous flies in livestock and farm buildings.
