The object of study — Ukrainian Edition of the Church Slavonic Language of the End of the XVI-XVII cc. The aim is to clarify the state of the system of morphological norms of changing words of Ukrainian edition of the Church Slavonic language of the end of XVI-XVII centuries, to identify and describe the peculiarities of this system in comparison with the Old Slavonic and Ukrainian languages of that period, and to find out to what extent this influence participated in the formation of morphological norms of the Church Slavonic language. To achieve this goal, general scientific methods (observation, analysis, synthesis, comparison, induction, deduction, generalization) were used, as well as actually linguistic methods and techniques: the descriptive method with its inherent methods of external and internal interpretation; the technique of reception of internal reconstruction of the comparative-historical method; the comparative method, and the method of quantitative calculations. During the collection of the research material, the procedure of creating mechanical samples, developed within the statistical method, was used. The theoretical value of the research is that its results deepen the knowledge about the structure of Ukrainian edition of the Church Slavonic language of the end of the XVI-XVII centuries, in general, about the tendencies in its morphological development, as well as the peculiarities of its interaction with the Ukrainian language. In addition, the material has been introduced into scientific circulation, which has so far been used only partially. The practical value of the research is due to the fact that its results can be used in educational practice during the teaching of historical linguistics, as well as for the creation of generalized pieces on the history of Church Slavonic and Ukrainian languages and textbooks. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the fact that it is the first time in the Ukrainian linguistics the peculiarities of words inflection in Ukrainian edition of the Church Slavonic language of the end of XVI-XVII cc. are studied on the ground of a wide material selected through continuous sampling mainly from the old books in comparison with the Old Slavonic and Ukrainian languages of that period, the morphological norms of the Church Slavonic language of the studied period are identified and described. Through the analysis of the fixed variants of forms, the tendencies of morphological development of Ukrainian edition of the Church Slavonic language of the end of the XVI-XVII centuries are found out. It is proved that the Ukrainian language influenced the formation of the Ukrainian edition of the Church Slavonic language of the studied period. The four varieties of the results of this influence were identified: 1) the emergence and/or spreading of new variants of traditional forms; 2) phonetic (graphic) features of certain forms; 3) support for those features in the word accidence that coincided with the Ukrainian ones; 4) promoting consistent use of forms that were radically different from Ukrainian counterparts and served as a means of contrasting the Church Slavonic and the Ukrainian languages. The analysis also revealed that the influence of the Ukrainian language played a significant role in the formation of the system of morphological norms of the Ukrainian edition of the Church Slavonic language of the late XVI-XVII centuries. It was revealed, that among the new variants in the Ukrainian edition of Church Slavonic language of the studied period, those formations that were generally accepted (had no colloquial or regional colour) in the Ukrainian language of that period became widespread and acquired the status of variant norms.
