Annienkova N. Formation and development of the scientific and technical potential of machine tool building in the Ukrainian SSR (20-30 years of the twentieth century)

In the dissertation, by analyzing a wide range of historical sources, the historical picture of the formation and development of the scientific -technical potential of Ukrainian machine tool building at the stage of "socialist" industrialization in the 20-30s of the twentieth century is recreated. The degree of reliability of the display of machine-tool activity during the selected chronological framework in studies about history of Ukrainian and Soviet industry is clarified. The features of the functioning of the industry as a part of the machine tool industry of the USSR, the systems of republican and co-engineered engineering against the background of the accompanying socio-political changes are determined. The contribution of Ukrainian scientific institutions, higher educational institutions, individual scientists, engineers and business leaders to the formation of machine tool construction in the Ukrainian SSR is disclosed. The criteria for evaluating the scientific-technical potential of the machine tool industry are justified. The development of the industry has been periodized based on an analysis of the developed indicators of the processes of formation and use of its scientific-technical potential. The main laws of the influence of transformations of the scientific-technical potential of the machine tool industry on the development of engineering and the course of industrialization processes are revealed.
