Varyvonchyk A. Ukrainian Artistic Crafts: Genesis, Historical Evolution, Current State and Trends

The dissertation research reflects the results of a comprehensive art and cultural survey, which summarizes the scientific, theoretical and methodological approaches to solving the problem. Сlarification of the conceptual and substantive content of key concepts, such as “production” and “industry”. The results of the retrospective analysis of the concern "Ukrkhudozhprom" activity in the context of authentic industrial experience aimed at preserving and promoting the centuries-old culture of Ukraine are presented. The matters of history, present and future of Ukrainian art crafts in everyday life and art as a component of forming interest and supporting society are highlighted. The role of the State in contributing to the development of traditional Ukrainian art and the art industry in the XX-th century is determined. It was established that training centers were created on the basis of the “workmen's cooperative association”, personnel were trained for production and creative associations with experimental laboratories, workshops and branches, and the creative elite of Ukraine was being formed. Dissertation contains additional materials: archival photographs, documents of organizational and production and financial nature disclosing the concern "Ukrkhudozhprom" activity.
