Pavlyuk T. Ballroom choreography of the XX - beginning of the XXI century: genesis, sociocultural context, development trends.

The Doctoral thesis is dedicated to art analysis of historical conditions of formation and development of ballroom choreography in a wide socio-cultural context. The first sections of the work cover the theoretical issues and the main historical stages of the evolution of ballroom choreography from the appearance of the simplest dance forms in the aristocratic meetings of the XII century to the processes of standardization and transformation of ballroom choreography of the XX-XXI centuries. The author discovered the connections of ballroom choreography with other types of choreographic art, performed a structural and functional analysis of ballroom dance and explored the communicative, cathartic, compensatory and other functions of ballroom dancing.
